| EYP SCAP automates the Guadarrama and San Pedro tunnels |

These railroad tunnels enable high-speed rail communication between Madrid and the northern plateau of Castile. |

EYP SCAP has completed the installation and startup of the automation subsystems (PLCs) in the railway tunnels used by the AVE (Spain’s high-speed trains) that connect Madrid with the city of Valladolid.
These tunnels consist of two unidirectional tubes 28 kilometers long (the Guadarrama tunnels) and two nine-kilometer unidirectional tubes (the San Pedro tunnel).
In the Guadarrama railroad tunnels, the two tubes are interconnected by 112 galleries that use, in case of an accident, the other tube to evacuate the people trapped in the tube where the accident has occurred. In the center of the two tubes, located equidistant from the two tunnel ends, is the Emergency Room. The entire facility is taking the electric power from 13 transformer stations placed along the length of the two tubes.
Eyp Scap performed the programming, integration and startup of the automation equipment for the two tunnels in record time.
